Ultrasound is the recommended imaging method to assess for the majority of gynecological disorders. At the McGill University Health Centre, we provide specialized pelvic ultrasounds dedicated to conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, polyps and uterine anomalies. Modalities include:

Dynamic endometriosis ultrasound
➥ to assess for soft markers of endometriosis

Fibroid mapping ultrasound
➥ ​to assess fibroid localization to guide management

3D ultrasound
➥ ​to assess for uterine anomalies

Saline infusion sonography (SIS) or sonohysterography
➥ ​where sterile fluid is injected into the cavity of the uterus to assess the lining inside and identify polyps and fibroids
